We had a critical septic related issue that needed to be assessed pretty quickly. We live on Salt Spring Island which is a ferry ride away from Duncan…and I have seen the beautiful Gideon trucks driving around. I had heard they were good plumbers so gave them a call. From the first moments of the call I knew this was a highly professional well run organization. The dispatcher promptly called me back and we were lucky that a plumber technician was available to come by that morning. We received a text with our plumbers picture (so professional!) about what time he would arrive. Cole arrived and quickly got to work on assessing the problem and providing an accurate assessment and estimate of what needed to be done. He was super friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very professional. He returned the following day to do a pretty intense and demanding fix to our septic system and was able to do so quickly, reliably and within the budget we were given! All in all (despite the severity of the job) we were so pleased with the experience and were very happy to meet such a fine young person! Gideon from beginning to end was outstanding!

Gideon Plumbing is absolutely the best!!! I phoned on a Thursday evening, hoping to receive a call the following day. Shortly after I had left a message, Audrey called and arranged to have Andrej come over to Salt Spring Island the next morning to fix my clogged kitchen sink. On Friday morning, I received an email confirmation that Andrej was on his way and a phone call from Audrey to give me his eta. Included in the email was a photo of Andrej and a little bit of information about him.Andrej is by far the most competent and knowledgeable plumber I've ever hired. He obviously loves his job. First he did an assessment of the work that needed to be done and then quickly provided an estimate that I agreed to. He replaced the plumbing under the sink so that the pipe leading to the sewer pipe would slope properly and he also installed a cleanout since the original plumbing did not have one. Before he left, Andrej cleaned everything up beautifully. All of the work was completed quickly and efficiently. Gideon Plumbing has the best customer service I've ever had the good fortune to be the recipient of!

The Gideon Plumbing response to my request to replace an old water heater was prompt and the work was scheduled within less than a week. The plumber person showed up at the right date and time and performed the work professionally and quite fast. We had hot water in less than four hours. The communication between us and Gideon Plumbing was very good through emails, texts and phone calls. We were informed at all times about the work schedule and cost. Every aspect of our experience with Gideon handling the renovation of our basement bathroom was professional, prompt and very reasonably priced. Gideon comes to Salt Spring at no charge. Provided an onsite quote within a day and started the following week. Cole and Ian took care of everything from jack hammering the floor, installing a new sump,re-running the drains and waterlines and refinishing the concrete. They sourced and installed all new fixtures and on top of all that they also replaced our hot water heater. All this was completed in just 9 days! We are recommending them to everyone we know. From the responsiveness to my initial call, to being able to get all the repairs done the following day, I have been impressed every step of the way. The team fully explained what was needed in a clear and respectful conversation. We had an excellent experience with Cole who reconfigured the plumbing in our kitchen so that we could get a dishwasher installed. Work included removing the old cupboard, moving a protruding pipe into the wall and redoing plumbing under the kitchen sink. Absolutely amazing! My husband and I needed a complete re-piping of our entire house which was extremely daunting for us. Toby came over to inspect and give us a quote, he was very reassuring, knowledgeable and an absolute ray of sunshine with a passion for plumbing. It's hard to find a plumber here on Salt Spring (at least one who will return a call or email), so I called Gideon. From the start, they were professional, efficient and friendly. They sent Ian over and he was great. He produced a detailed estimate and plan. He then came over and did the work. We are delighted with the booster pump he installed, the water line he installed up the property, and the two farm hydrants he installed. The price was fair, their communications were prompt and efficient, and they did what they said they were going to do, when they said they would do it, and for the price they quoted. Andrej was very explanatory with each step of repair. Very friendly. His confidence and expertise was reassuring. He left the drywall pieces he cut out for me to do drywall repairs. The only thing I would ask Gideon Plumbing to do is make sure All their plumbers leave the pieces cut out just in case we would want to remove the plastic covers they include, and get the original look back. And also, for those emergency calls that come in, the plumbers should allow for a little extra supplies just in case they have to go to a later in the day job after the stores close. Having to wait another day without water can make some home owners not too happy. I was okay with it as the next day was also a day off and so I didn't have to go to work. We called Gideon Plumbing at about 2:00pm on a Friday afternoon after our countertop installer told us that we would need a plumber to finish up the installation that he was called for. We were surprised that our installer didnt tell us ahead of time, otherwise we would have booked a plumber in advance!Anyways, so, we contacted Gideon and they said that they might not have time on Friday, but they would do their best to have us looked at on Saturday.Saturday morning at 10am Audrey the dispatcher calls me to let me know that they haven't forgotten about me and they are hoping that no emergency calls will come in that day so that I can be seen. Amazing service, called them this morning when my hot water tank broke down. They told me they would be here between 12:30 and 1:30 and they called just after 1pm and quoted me the price and then did all the work and stayed until 6 to finish the work and and kept the price they quoted me.The work was very professional and the worker was amazing and very friendly especially with my dog. Wow our hot water tank decided to start leaking Wednesday night I called these guys the next morning and had Amadeus show up to do an estimate for hot water on demand. He showed up what he would be doing and he also said he would start now which shocked us so we hired Gideon to do the job. Amadeus was amazing hard worker. He showed up Friday morning all ready to work about two hours in he hurt himself but said he was fine and would get checked later when the job was done I was like no go get checked and he said once I am done installing your new hot water on demand I will. He started around 9am and was done around 1:45pm. Thanks so much for your hard work Amadeus we really appreciate it. I would give him more than 5 stars he did his job above and beyond always answering our questions and did not mind if we watched for a little great guy. Gideon Plumbing replaced all the aging copper pipe in our home as well as the line from the city meter in. They also replaced a kitchen faucet and two shower valves plus outside taps and all shutoffs. The whole thing was done in two (full) days. The work cost a lot but in line with the work done. Again, Gideon Plumbing did not disappoint. This is the second time we have used their services. Our home has a single bathroom to serve 2 adults and 3 kids. Yesterday one of our little ones clogged the only toilet beyond what I was able to fix. I called Gideon Plumbing who came to the rescue. A technician who was just finishing a job nearby was at my home fifteen minutes later. The service was great, fast, friendly and affordable. They sent me a text when the technician was on his way with a picture of who was coming and a brief bio of them. Thank you Gideon!

Jordan was asked to develop a plan for hot water for a 5 bathroom house built 30-40 years ago. It involved replacing 4 old hot water heaters. He was spectacular in his commitment, to getting the job done really well. It was not easy, or straightforward, but the result could not have been more professional.While there were bumps in the road, he took full responsibility for getting it done right.

Service from booking on the phone with AJ to the plumbing tech Andrej service was excellent. They managed to squeeze me in within the same day I called, and gave plenty of heads up before Andrej came. He was very very helpful and was very thorough in explaining and even taught me a couple things! He went out of his way to give the house plumbing a cursory check to make sure all was good despite only needing to fix my shower. Andrej put tags on important parts of the plumbing so I knew what was what in case I had to shut off the main valve and etc. He was very professional and pleasant and finished the shower repair efficiently. Would 100% recommend especially for people who are clueless about these things like me 😄

This is the 2nd positive review I have posted for Gideon Plumbing. For someone who does not do reviews that says something! In addition to their excellent customer service (yes, that does still exist), we had a myriad of plumbing issues; spa tub motor not working, venting issue in bathroom, exterior hose bib replacement, installation of expansion tanks on all four water heaters, sink tap repairs and boiler repairs that they dealt with in a TIMELY manner. This list sounds tiny and simple but most items required troubleshooting and problem solving to the nth degree. I cannot even begin to list the amount of effort it took to solve some items that have plagued us for years (not to mention paid over and over again for the same poor results). Sadly, many of the problems were due to code violations from previous plumbers. Code is written to keep your equipment and home safe! How can that be ignored? Thanks to Jordon at Gideon Plumbing I finally feel safe and comfortable in my own home. Don't wait until you at wits end of contact Gideon Plumbing. They are based in Duncan but have included where I live, Salt Spring Island, in their service catchment. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Gideon was able to send someone on short notice. Jordan diagnosed our problem and offered to credit his half-day rate against the cost of returning to replace our aging sump pump. We had him back a couple months later to get it done. Great service! I will definitely call Gideon in the future.

Steve was absolutely wonderful. Incredibly knowledgeable and extremely thorough. He took the time to do a proper diagnosis of what turned out to be four separate issues and explained things very clearly. Audrey was my first contact at Gideon plumbing, and she was courteous and sympathetic to our plumbing needs. I've had great plumbers in the past on the mainland, but Gideon has surpassed all expectations! He has earned a lifetime customer with our family!UPDATE: Steve and AJ came back with all necessary equipment first thing on Monday morning. All work was completed per initial stated quote, and Steve even managed to replace a faucet which we hadn't scheduled, and offered a cheap solution for a bathroom sink. This outfit is great!

After moving to a new home, we discovered a leak in our plumbing a few days after moving in. I found Gideon Plumbing through a Google search, and the reviews were so impressive, I decided to give them a go. I called first thing Tuesday morning, didn’t get through or leave a message, but within five minutes I received a call back from their office. I explained the situation, mentioned it wasn’t an emergency as it was a slow leak into our crawlspace. The receptionist was incredibly professional and friendly, she said they’d do what they could to get us in within the next few days.By the end of day one, they called and said they’d try to get us in the following day. Unfortunately they had some emergency calls and phoned to let us know it would be another day before they could come. I was so impressed with them updating us to let us know we were still on their radar and that we could expect them the following day.The next day, I got a call that they would be able to come by within the next 15 minutes. They showed up, diagnosed the issue, gave us an estimate on the spot and the work was done within a few hours, no fuss or muss.The techs were incredibly polite and professional, explained everything as the job was being done, and there were zero surprises. The only surprise was the speed at which they attended the issue and the fairness in their pricing.I’m definitely a customer for life! I’d recommend anyone who needs a job done well and fairly priced to give Gideon Plumbing a call!

This company is truly a breath of fresh air after so many depressing encounters with other plumbers and some other contractors. They're nailing the communication aspect of the job. Steven AJ did a quick thorough assessment and determined where to start without any unnecessary costly work.They have nice high-tech equipment, with the camera they can see where your problem is and show you, for me it was Grease buildup at the tank and several feet inside the house, years worth of hard build up!They used the hydro Jet and camera system to blast it all off the inside of the pipe and free it up.I'm so glad they did Unbelievable how much large hard chunks of debris was coming out of there!Thanks again guys for a great professional job at a very reasonable price.You're the best!

Once again we were helped by a team of dedicated, customer oriented folks with our plumbing needs and gas installation request. Audrey, a customer service specialist and Steve Baker jumped into action when a cancellation came in - they quickly met our needs for service. Working hard all day and finishing everything on his list, Steve completed all the jobs that were on his list and more! Professionally installing a Natural Gas line run from the meter to the other side of the house for our BBQ, the line is neat and hidden and done to code. A new faucet installed in the kitchen and many hidden problems and leaks and soon to be discovered issues were flagged, discussed and professionally replaced by Steve along with the original faucet job.
